Plants grow everywhere in a rain forest - including on other plants.  Some epiphytes (mosses, lichens, ferns, orchids, cacti, and bromeliads exist in abundance in cloud forests.  Rain water gets trapped in some epiphytes and forms pools of water high in the trees, which the poison arrow frogs use to raise their tadpoles.

     The author of "Viva New Jersey", Gloria Gonzales, lived for many years in West New York, New York, where her story takes place.  While growing up, she spoke Spanish at home because her dad came from Spain.  Ms. Gonzales has also written "The Boy with Yellow Eyes" about two boys who capture a Nazi spy.
